WEEK 3/104: Switching to Monday P-days

Sorry I told you I couldn't email until next Monday. It turns out they let us email today because we leave to the field tomorrow. However my p day is Monday from now on!

Yesterday was very spiritual. I was able to fast and bear my testimony. Then we watched a devotional performance thing to celebrate blacks getting the priesthood. I'm not going to lie, it seemed very strange to me. They were in the general conference room, but they were dancing around and singing/ dancing, and clapping to the beat like southern baptists. They were even yelling out like AMEN and PRAISE THE LORD, and just stuff like that. They sang some church songs and to me it felt like reverence and respect to the song was taken out. It felt like they were singing to praise and emphasize their own voice and skill instead of the message and spirit of the song itself. But mybe its just a culture thing. I'm sure its alright because President Nelson was there soo I guess its okay.

We later heard a talk from President Nelson who told us steps we need to take to receive personal revelation. He promised that as we did the steps he told us, we would receive personal revelation. Sooo I put it to the test that night, and I had a very special and spiritual experience. We later watched the Testament and I really felt the Savior's love after watching that. Sooo all in all, yesterday was great!! Soooo yeah I leave tomorrow and on Wednesday I will know who my trainer is!!

Tanners farewell was lovely.  He really did do a nice job on his talk.  It was fun to catch a glimpse of his personality sprinkled throughout yet he was respectful as well.  He has truly grown so much this past year and I'm sure he will grow even more these next two.   I'm very grateful my family were able to come.  I think he would have felt bad if nobody was able to be here.  We stay for all three meetings so we really didn't have much of a celebration after....just the family had lunch together and then we said good-bye.  I still tried to decorate a bit so he would feel special. WEEK 7/104: Faith

(I told Tanner from his pictures it looks like he was sent to a country inhabited solely by children!) Hey everyone!! So this week was very successful, well until the end but hey I will take it. We found 4 new investigators and received 1 referral. Three of the 4 investigators we found all in one place together and we have taught them twice throughout the week. And wow, they are powerful... they have really been prepared to learn about and receive the gospel.They ask so many questions and are just so ready to learn the truth. They go to a church but realize the things going on in that church are not right, so when we extended the invitation to come to our church they were not ready. They told us they have already made a poor choice once so they want to be sure before they decided again. MERRY CHRISTMAS (12-23-19)

Hello Friends,  Afishapa!! That translates into Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I have been listening to Christmas music a lot and I especially love the song that reads, "its the most wonderful time, of the year."... This is definitely a true and accurate statement, and as I reflected on why this is my thought lead me back to my Savior.  Christmas is about Christ, and it pains me when I see His name replaced with an X. If you have fallen given into this disrespectful temptation by placing this on social media posts, or text messages, or even posters, then I would invite you to quickly repent and put Christ back into your Christmas and lives.  That is not the only way we take Christ out of Christmas however.
