WEEK 20: Evil Spirits

Hello friends!

The mission is great, and I am so happy. However, my eyes have been opened to the evils of the world and the power of satan. A missionary who just went home had a crazy experience while on his mission. He bought a cool mask one day and loved it. He took it home and hung it up on the wall in the room. Well one night his companion got up in the middle of the night and saw a shadowy figure. He just prayed and went back to bed and thought maybe he was going crazy from being tired. The next night this guy got up to use the washroom, and saw more closely and more distinctly the same shadowy figure and he said it was scary. They figured out that it must have been the mask so they cast out the spirit from it and rededicated the room and it never came back... another less scary but crazy one is a missionary got hit by an automobile and it broke his arm. A leader of some crazy church rushed over and gave him a blessing with the power of the devil. Immediately his arm was healed. The missionary didn't feel happy after that and knew something about that was very wrong. He went to the mission home and got a priesthood blessing. They  cast out the evil spirit and right after his arm rebroke. The power of the devil can't heal, but it can mask it or make it seem as if it is healed. But yeah those are just two of many examples. They have something called "miracle hour". Some of it is fake and staged but a lot of it is real. In Ghana you see a lot of miracles but it's not from God. Many people use evil spirits here to become wealthy and so on.

But as other things go, life is great! I'm getting a new companion and going to a new area. I have no idea who yet or even where. But yeah. the mission is great and conference was soooo amazing!
