WEEK 42: Malaria

Dear friends,

Well this week had its downs for sure. To start off this week I got both Malaria and Typhoid. Just my luck! haha. So from Wednesday to Sunday I spent most of my time on the bed resting and trying to get better. To be completely honest the worst part of it all was getting my blood drawn for the tests.  I absolutely hate needles ... that being said there was defiantly some ups to my week.

The biggest being I had a lot of time to study, especially about the life of Jesus Christ. As I studied I learned that he too had to pass through the veil of forgetfulness. This means that He had no immediate knowledge of the pre- existence. The scriptures say little about his childhood, however it notes that he did "grow in wisdom". James 1:5 tells us that" if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God". From this I think we can logically conclude that Jesus Christ obtained his wisdom, through communicating with his father through prayer, and knowledge by studying the scriptures. I imagine that in large part this is how he came to know who he really was, and the role he played on earth. As he communicated with his father he learned more and more his will, and always submitted himself to it. The same is true for us. We to can know of Gods divine plan for us as we turn to him humbly in pray, and learn his will through the scriptures.

It is no coincidence that the restoration of the gospel began with a humble prayer. Prayer is important. So if you find yourself questioning if there is a God, or if you really do have a Father in Heaven who knows you, then turn to him. You can do this by getting on your knees, and pouring our your heart with all sincerity. You will find that he is really there. He hasn't been hiding himself from you, but instead he has been quietly waiting for you to turn to him. You will feel he is there. You will feel his love. I know this because I experienced it even this week as I have turned to him more fully.

Oh and I want to thank all of you who reached out to me this week. I also want to thank all those who are keeping me in their prayers, i feel them and they are helping me so much!

Love you all
Elder Pace
