WEEK 27: New Companion

Image
He didn't send an email this week other than answering a couple of questions.  He got his Christmas package and was tempted to open it but didn't.  He is planning on getting a washing machine for his own Christmas present because it takes about 3 hours to wash everything by hand.  He did send this picture but with no explanations.  I'm assuming this is his new companion that he is training.

WEEK 26: Transfer News

Image
Pictures:  with current companion and ?; with Elder Johnston (may or may not be a good idea for them to be companions! :) and a picture that made his mama smile!   Hello friends!!!  This week was so sweet.  Our stake conference was on Sunday so some elders came over to our apartment on Saturday and we just had a great time. One of my favorite elders is Elder Johnston, he is prob the coolest guy.   I hope I will be his companion one day! This week was a little crazy and stressful with transfer news but all is well (he told his dad that he will be training and will be a district leader this next transfer but we don't know if that means he's leaving this area or staying...?) I love my mission, I love this church and I love love love the Book of Mormon. Anyways all is well. Elder Pace

WEEK 25: A Great Example

Hello friends! Sorry I didn't send an email last week I just wasn't feeling it haha! However this week was very nice! We found a ton of new people and an amazing investigator.  We had started telling his family to join him. We are now teaching like the entire fam!  I think they all have potential to be baptized some day!  One of our recent converts is just amazing! He comes to us and asks us if he can do missionary work along side us for the day.  No one ever does that here! He has already helped us find like 5 people. He loves the Book of Mormon and reads both English and Twi everyday to get the best understanding of it. He is anxious to serve others, and really knows how to minister to all. I love him! All and all this was a great week. Love you al!! Elder Pace

WEEK 24: No Letter

WEEK 23: Mission Tour

Image
I didn't even ask! This week was pretty good. Okay actually it was great! First off, we had mission tour. Elder Nash (Tanner didn't realize but Elder Nash was our stake president when we lived in Washington!  Tanner wasn't born yet and Elder Nash wouldn't remember us but we remember him!) from the 70 came and talked to us for like 4 hours. Seriously incredible! I learned so much and felt the spirit so strong. For the zone tour we had to leave very early so I knew those in my apartment wouldn't have time to make breakfast. so I woke up at 4:30 and made 6 hungry boys a ton of pancakes and 24 eggs... btw I make the best pancakes; chocolate, bananas cinnamon pancakes to be exact! In fact every day this week I had pancakes for breakfast. Sometimes for lunch and dinner too haha. This week I had the opportunity to study about the Savior. I seriously enjoyed reading about his life and all he went through. It helps me...

WEEK 22: Food Poisoning

Hey everyone! Well this week was something haha. Definitely had its ups and downs. So I started my week off very strong with some good old fashioned food poisoning! Got to love it! Then after I got better someone else in the apartment got sick. Then on Sunday my companion got sick haha. But the good news is none of us got malaria! Other than that small thing my week was spectacular! I was able to see my area more and meet more people. I was able to make pancakes like every morning, and I played chubby bunny with a guy named Elder Barnum, the dude from Cali in my apartment. Sooo yeah overall this week was seriously great. I love my area and my companion, and I will never regret this decision I made to serve. Love you all, Elder Pace

WEEK 21: Answered prayers

Image
Tanner is now serving in the Krofrum ward.  His new companion is Elder Pahulu from Tonga.  In Tanner's words he is "a fun and kind Tongan who loves making jokes".  He is loving all the people in his apartment.  Besides his companion there is another set of missionaries: a native and an elder from California.  Tanner reports they all get along so well and Tanner is especially enjoying getting to know Elder Barnum, the missionary from California.  Although Tanner really liked his last companion and was grateful he was a good missionary they didn't have as much in common personality wise.  Although happy with doing missionary work, he was starting to feel lonely so he prayed that this transfer he would be placed with someone he could connect with.  He acknowledged that his prayers were answered! He shared an experience they had together: "Yesterday we killed a mouse. We we sitting just talking like usual, and then I was li...
