WEEK 44: Kids Leading the Way!

Hello friends! This week was awesome! So the update on my life is I had 11 kids (ages 3-14) come to church!!! We teach them like every other day then out of no where they all came to church!. (He shared a little more of this story with his dad.  This group of kids are waiting for them quite often.  They sit down and teach them and have shared some materials about the church with them.  On Saturday they didn't have time to stop as they had another appointment.  The told the kids that they could study the materials they had and let them know they could come to church the next day.  As they rode away on their bikes they could hear one of the children ask the others..."So what is faith?"  and they proceeded to have their own little lesson!  Although they had invited them to join them at church they didn't think it would actually happen.  Tanner said they doubled the size of the branch that day!)  I get a new companion this week (because of...

WEEK 43: The Journey of the Lost Sheep

Image
Hello everyone!  Let me start off by saying I am doing well and I am no more sick! woot woot! So thankfully I was able to have a full week of service. This week was sweet honestly. We have two people preparing for baptism.  And one of them, is absolutely incredible and so ready. Her name is Sister Lynda. Every lesson I have with her I leave feeling so edified and uplifted. This week I was also blessed to preform the ordinance of baptism for the other elders convert . He was a really big dude and they weren't sure if they would be able to do it so they asked me if I could help them. I'm not going to lie it wasn't easy.  We ended up asking him to kneel down haha. That worked pretty well. One thing I have learned this week from my studies of Jesus the Christ is the cleansing power of the Atonement. I read the parable of the lost sheep and saw it in a different way. The Shepherd left the 99 to save the one. When he found the one he took him on his back ...

WEEK 42: Malaria

Dear friends, Well this week had its downs for sure. To start off this week I got both Malaria and Typhoid. Just my luck! haha. So from Wednesday to Sunday I spent most of my time on the bed resting and trying to get better. To be completely honest the worst part of it all was getting my blood drawn for the tests.  I absolutely hate needles ... that being said there was defiantly some ups to my week.  The biggest being I had a lot of time to study, especially about the life of Jesus Christ. As I studied I learned that he too had to pass through the veil of forgetfulness. This means that He had no immediate knowledge of the pre- existence. The scriptures say little about his childhood, however it notes that he did "grow in wisdom". James 1:5 tells us that" if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God". From this I think we can logically conclude that Jesus Christ obtained his wisdom, through communicating with his father through prayer, and knowledge by studying...

Hello friends! Well I must ask for you all to forgive me last week for not sending out a group email.  Let me start off by saying I miss all of you, so don't be a stranger and FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME! in fact if you are reading this maybe when you finish you could send a quick update on your life, whoever and wherever you are. I love all of you and I want to hear about you lives.  Okay so an update for me. well I'm doing well, and I can not complain! I have received news on more people I have previously taught being baptized which of course makes me so happy. I have been blessed to recently meet a new family and we have been teaching them, and all of them are very receptive and ready to learn. I was able to have two investigators at church today and I'm so thrilled about that.  This week I also had zone conference. One message that stood out to me was given by our AP Elder Garrett. It was on the power of the Atonement and repentance. This really touched my ...

WEEK 40: Part 1

Tanner sent me part 1 of his testimony of the restoration of the gospel.  He wanted me to hang onto it and add it to part 2 but he hasn't written that yet so I just need to add part 1.
